I am what we can call a professional BA: right after university, I started my career as a BA with a small consulting firm in Montréal, with limited experience gained from past summer jobs, but no real professional background.
Almost 10 years have passed since, allowing me to grow as a business analyst, mainly within the telecommunications industry, working first for Bell Canada and Vidéotron, and then for Intact Financial Corporation (the largest P&C insurer in Canada).
I touched on many areas, from business process analysis & optimization to eliciting system requirements, and from quality assurance to training and change management. In most of my projects, I focused on users’ pains & needs first, making me part of the UX community without knowing it at that time.

Through all these years, I kept a real interest in making things simple, explaining complex concepts to clients,
This led me to finally launch EricTheBusinessAnalyst.com in 2014, my first professional blog that allowed me to share my passion for business analysis and helping BAs around the world to make organizations better (at least I hope so!).
I rebranded the blog to EricProvost.net in 2019 to allow me to explore new professional dimensions (such as the UX discipline) more easily than with a BA-branded blog.
That being said, sit down and enjoy the ride in BA & UX chaos!
